Microsoft’s Bridge to Cloud Discount Promotion Is Still Available for Dynamics 365 Business Central (What You Need to Know)

July 29, 2026

This article was originally publish in December 2024 with the details of the previous Microsoft Bridge to Cloud promotion, and was updated in July of 2026 to reflect the latest promotion timelines, discounts, eligibility requirements, and details.

If you found this page looking for Microsoft’s Bridge to the Cloud 2 promotion, that program closed on December 31, 2024. The good news is Microsoft did not stop there. A new version, Bridge to Cloud 3 (BTC3), is live right now and runs through December 31, 2027. If you are still running Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV, or an on-premises version of Business Central, this is the current path to cloud licensing savings. If you want the short version of what a move to Business Central actually involves, our Business Central Migrations page walks through it.

Here is what changed with Microsoft’s Bridge to Cloud promotion, what stayed the same, and what you need to know before you enroll.

Bridge to Cloud 2 Has Closed

The original Bridge to the Cloud 2 promotion ran from February 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024. It priced Business Central Online at an amount equal to your existing Enhancement Plan renewal, locked in for a three year term. That enrollment window is over. If you missed it, Bridge to Cloud 3 (BTC3) is Microsoft’s next chapter of the same idea, with updated terms.

For more on how GP and NAV customers have been approaching this shift, see ERP Cloud Migration from Dynamics GP or NAV Made Easy.

What Bridge to Cloud 3 Offers

BTC3 gives eligible on-premises customers a 30 percent discount on Dynamics 365 online licenses, fixed for a three year term from the date you enroll. The enrollment window itself runs January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027, so you have a bit of time to plan the move rather than rushing a decision.

This promotion arrives on the heels of a small Business Central price increase that took effect November 1, 2025, which makes the discount a meaningful offset for anyone who has been putting off a Business Central or cloud migration decision.

Our Business Central implementations team can help you scope what a fully licensed, fully implemented move looks like before you enroll, especially if your current environment depends on custom Business Central integrations you have built up over the years.

Dual Access Rights Still Apply

Like its predecessor, BTC3 includes dual access rights. You can keep running your current on-premises system, whether that is GP, NAV, or an older Business Central deployment, while you explore, implement, and train your team on Dynamics 365 Business Central Online. Nobody has to flip a switch overnight. Migrations can happen in phases without paying for two full systems at once, the same phased approach we cover in ERP Cloud Migration Benefits for GP and NAV Users Considering Business Central.

Who Qualifies for Bridge to Cloud

Eligibility looks similar to the prior program, with a few dates moved forward.

  • You must hold a valid perpetual Dynamics license, such as GP, NAV, SL, or AX, purchased before September 1, 2024, and you must not have already purchased the equivalent cloud product.
  • Your Enhancement Plan must be active at the time you enroll. There is a 30 day grace period if your plan has lapsed. If it lapsed longer ago than that, you may need to pay back dated fees, capped at three years, to requalify.
  • The annualized value of the new cloud licenses you purchase must equal or exceed your current Enhancement Plan renewal amount.

If you are weighing whether staying on GP or moving to Business Central makes more sense for your licensing and hosting costs long term, our breakdown on Dynamics GP vs. D365 Business Central Pros and Cons: Licensing and Hosting covers that comparison in more detail, no matter which industry you operate in. You can see the sectors we support most on our industries page.

Promotion Timeline

Enrollment is open now and closes December 31, 2027. Once you enroll, your 30 percent discount and three year term are locked in from that point forward, regardless of where you are in the overall window. After the term ends, standard Dynamics 365 pricing applies.

For Dynamics GP customers specifically, there is added urgency. Mainstream support for Dynamics GP is set to end in 2029, and we cover what that timeline means for your organization in Dynamics GP End of Support – 2029. BTC3 gives you a funded runway to move before that deadline arrives.

Licensing Prerequisites for Bridge to Cloud Discount Eligibility

  • Purchase Dynamics 365 online licenses with a value equal to or greater than your current annual Enhancement Plan renewal.
  • Keep your Enhancement Plan payments current and active through enrollment.
  • Maintain the minimum license value for the full duration of the three year term.
  • Hold a qualifying on-premises Dynamics license purchased before September 1, 2024.
