Meet Northbank Technology Group

We're a small, senior team of ERP consultants built in Northern California and we've spent decades helping growing businesses get the most out of their back office systems. The same Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experts who scope your project are the ones who build it, support it, and pick up when you call two years later. That's not a service model, it’s just how we work.

California ERP Consulting Built on Relationships, Not Retainers

ERP shouldn't be complicated, but the wrong partner can make it that way. Where generic implementations fall short and national firms lose interest after go-live, Northbank stands apart with senior-level expertise, genuine industry knowledge, and a commitment to getting it right the first time. We don't disappear after go-live. We've been doing this for over twenty years in Northern California, and our clients will tell you we're still the first call they make.

What We Do

Northbank delivers the full range of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central services for growing small and mid-sized businesses across Northern California — from first implementation to long-term optimization.

Whether you're migrating off a legacy system like GP (Great Plains) or NAV (Navision), consolidating a multi-entity environment, connecting Business Central to the platforms your business depends on, or simply looking for a partner who will invest in understanding your business processes, we bring the senior-level expertise and local presence to make it work.

We handle implementations, migrations, integrations, and ongoing support. The same people who start the engagement are the ones who see it through the end, and years beyond. Every time.

How We Do It

Every Northbank engagement starts the same way, we listen. Before we touch a single setting or recommend a single solution, we take the time to understand how your business runs. Your workflows, your people, your data, and the systems you're already relying on.

From there we map, build, and configure a Business Central environment that fits your operational reality, not a generic template. We follow Microsoft's Sure Step methodology to keep every project on scope, on schedule, and free from the kind of mid-project chaos that gives ERP a bad reputation.

And when the project is done, we don't hand you off. The same team that built your system supports it, which means when you need something, you're talking to someone who already knows the story.

Why Choose Us?

There's no shortage of Microsoft Dynamics partners out there. What's harder to find is one that's still engaged, at the same level of attentiveness, five years later. A partner that knows your system, knows Business Central inside out, knows finance from accounting and CPA backgrounds, knows your business, and picks up the phone when you call.

That's what Northbank is. Not through marketing claims, but through two decades of showing up the same way every time with senior resources, honest advice, and an investment in the businesses we serve. Our clients don't think of us as a vendor. They think of us as part of the team. And that's exactly what we're here to be.

"They really embed themselves in the business, know what the best applications are for you, then dives in and gets to the base mechanics to create the process that's going to make your life easier. There was no one else we'd consider for our migration."
Kathleen Pipis, CFO, Carson Landscape

Meet the Northbank Executive Team

Aaron Thomas

Principal, Owner
Sacramento, CA

Aaron has been in the Microsoft ERP space since 1998, which means he's seen just about everything. Before founding Northbank, he built his career as an accountant, which is why he approaches every engagement from the inside out. He doesn't just understand how Business Central works. He understands why the numbers behind it matter.

Over two decades later, Aaron is still the person clients call directly — not because he has to be, but because that's the kind of partner he set out to be when he started Northbank. He knows his clients' businesses the way a good CFO knows their own; the history, the quirks, the stuff that isn't in any documentation.

Rita Thomas

Co-Owner & Operations
Central Valley, CA

Rita has been with Northbank since the very beginning over 23 years ago, when she and Aaron set out to build something different in the Northern California ERP market. While Aaron leads the technical side, Rita is the operational backbone that keeps everything running smoothly, managing accounts, software licensing, and the day-to-day infrastructure that lets the rest of the team focus on clients.

Her path to Northbank is anything but conventional. A biochemistry degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, years in the biotech industry, and a teaching credential from San Jose State have a way of building exactly the kind of analytical thinking and work ethic that operations management demands. Rita brings all of it to Northbank every day.

Outside of work, Rita volunteers with Sacramento County 4-H, fostering the same hands-on, learn-by-doing spirit in the next generation that she and Aaron have always brought to their clients. If you've ever called Northbank and felt like you were talking to someone who genuinely cares, there's a good chance it was Rita.
